Recent happenings:
Memphis is coming off of two lopsided victories where everyone saw minutes. Banks, Carney and Rice are getting the job done. Darius Washington has stepped in as expected and Dorsey is pounding the offensive boards with 15 in his first two games.
St. Mary's is coming off an upset over California. Jonathan Sanders was the Coaches vs. Cancer Regional MVP averaging 17 points and 6 boards a game.
What to expect:

St. Mary's returns four starters from a team that won 19 games last year. They have senior guard play and have a history of playing the good teams tough. Aside from their recent victory over Cal, they played Arizona and USC down to the wire last year.

This game will depend on how well Darius Washington and Anthony Rice can move the ball around the perimeter. Banks and Carney should have pretty good games, but need to stay out of foul trouble for the Tigers to make this an easy one.

Prediction:
Memphis in a close one, 86-81
