"This was fun today," said Coker. "This was a Miami Hurricane kind of day. The guys flew around after being in shorts for two days."
Coker added that the injuries to receivers Ryan Moore (hamstring) and Akieem Jolla (quad) would not require surgeries although both players still remain sidelined indefinitely. Coker said that Moore would have played a lot more last season if not for the persisting injury. Roscoe Parrish and Jason Geathers are currently starting with the first-unit at the position.
"We're very thin at receiver right now," said Coker.
The Hurricanes will scrimmage, 36 plays, for the first time this spring tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Coker will be looking for efficiency on both sides of the ball and players that are ready to make an impact.
"There is a lot of competition out here so I expect the intensity to go up even more," said Coker.
