The Hurricanes practiced in full pads on Wednesday, focusing on fundamentals and group play as both the offense and defense spent much of the session working amongst themselves. Special teams work was featured during the opening periods of practice, followed by fundamentals work among the separate position before some full team scrimmaging ended the practice session.
Wednesday's practice was the 10th of 15 sessions that will conclude on Friday, April 11. The Hurricanes will practice Thursday afternoon before taking Friday off.
The Hurricanes will host the Fox Sports Net CanesFest at the Orange Bowl this Saturday. The practice is set to begin at 10 a.m., but gates will open at 9 a.m. so that fans may arrive early to secure 2003 season tickets. In addition to the game, there will be an autograph session and a question-and-answer session with head football coach Larry Coker. For further information on Miami football tickets, call 1-800-GO-CANES.
The autograph session will take place approx. 20 minutes following the scrimmage and will last approximately 30 minutes. Only one item per person will be permitted. Fox Sports Net Florida will televise CanesFest 2003 beginning at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday.
