"Adrian has a combination of size and speed," Palestine Head Coach Jeffrey Harrell said. "He can run over you or right by you. Last week, he ran a 10.6 100 meters. He is 6-3 and I am not sure how big he will get. But Adrian can certainly run. He picks up everything very well and has worked very hard."
Despite the injury, Peterson still put up gaudy junior numbers. Add to the fact that he did miss one complete game and only played in the first half in many of his games because the score got out of hand.
"I like to run people over," Peterson said. "I have speed and strength. People compare me to Eric Dickerson and that's some high praise."
Peterson likely gets his great speed from his mother. She was a three time state champ in the 100 meters in high school. According to Coach Harrell, Peterson has scholarship offers from Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and TCU.
"My favorite team is Miami but that may be too far away. I prefer to stay in the region but you never know. I like Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, Colorado and TCU. I want to take some visits and see some places. I want to check out all the coaches and I want to play early."
