Stacey Bedell, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound running back from William Floyd High (N.Y.), pulled in his first big verbal offer from Rutgers University.
"I got a verbal from Rutgers about a week ago," Bedell said. "I think Rutgers is a great school. They have great academics, coaching staff, school discipline and nice facilities."
The Scarlet Knights made his must-see list along with two others.
"I was invited to Rutgers, Buffalo and Connecticut for spring games. And I plan on going to them."
"I think the new UConn coaching staff is great, he comments. "And Buffalo, it's a great campus. I like the coaching staff and they are great in academics."
Bedell is also hearing from Penn State, Syracuse, Pitt, Temple and Boston College. Although a timetable for his decision has yet to be set, he did say, "I will make it early, before signing day."
