Five Hurricanes Qualify For 100-Meter Final

University of Miami freshman Terrell Walden (Miami Edison) won his 100-meter qualifying heat in a time of 10.54 seconds as five Hurricanes qualified for Sunday's final at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Storrs, CT.

Walden, the 2003 BIG EAST Indoor 60-meter champion, is attempting to become just the seventh sprinter in BIG EAST history to win both the indoor and outdoor sprint titles in the same seasons.

Also qualifying for the 100-meter final were sophomore Tanard Davis (Miami Southridge) with a time of 10.51, sophomore Roscoe Parrish (Miami Senior) with a time of 10.69, sophomore Sean Taylor (Miami Gulliver) with a time of 10.74 and freshman Travarous Bain (Miami Northwestern) with a time of 10.76.

Parrish also qualified for the finals of the 200-meters winning his qualifying heat with a time of 21.27.

In the 110-meter hurdles, senior Kenny Frank (Pomona, NY) qualified for the Sunday's final with a time of 14.52 seconds.
