"We're basically working out a lot as a team," Estes said. "I think we're gonna be pretty good. We had a good team last year and we have a lot of guys coming back."
Estes, who projects as a safety in college, said he's also excited about the fact that he'll split time at running back as well.
"I'm gonna play but we got a transfer in here from another school that's pretty good," he said. "He's going to get most of the carries but I'll get some. I'm ready to put the hurtin' on some people just like I do on defense."
Estes, who began playing football when he was eight years old, is solid inside the classroom. He's getting ready to take the SAT for the first time next weekend.
On the recruiting front, Estes was a busy man during the May evaluation period, talking to college coaches from all across the country.
"I talked to coaches from everywhere it seemed," he said. "All the big schools out there all the way to some of the big ones in the East. USC, Oklahoma, Michigan, Miami, Notre Dame, Florida State, there were a bunch of them."
The talented safety said he had a good conversation with UM defensive coordinator Randy Shannon.
"He basically called and said they liked how I play," he said. "He was straight up with me and talked about getting me out there for a visit. I'm still thinking about it because Miami's a great place. They're one of the places I'm considering taking a visit to."
Estes said he hopes to take several official visits during the season this fall.
"We play a lot of Thursday games so I'm going to try taking some visits during the year," he said. "USC, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State, Michigan, schools like that."
Ester, who said he does not plan on attending any summer camps over the next couple months, is starting to pull in some scholarship offers.
"A lot of the ones I just mentioned are starting to send offers in the mail," he said. "Miami hasn't sent one yet but he said they're really interested and will be recruiting me."
