NJ OL has UM offer, likes Canes

Brad Henson is a standout offensive line prospect from Donovan High in Toms River, N.J., and he has an offer from the Hurricanes. Read on to see everything he's saying about Miami and more.

The recruiting process has been heating up for offensive lineman Brad Henson, and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest on the recruiting front.

"I have seven offers and it's getting better now because they just finished the 2012 class, so I've been getting more attention from coaches, so it's been going well," Henson said.

While Henson has yet to name a top five, he spoke a little about some of the local schools that interest him.

"Everyone's at a pretty much even place right now, I don't really have any favorites. Boston College stands out a lot right now. West Virginia, I was just there for their Junior Day and they made a great impression. Rutgers. Pretty much everybody is doing a great job so far."

Another school further down south has also caught the lineman's attention.

"I think Miami's a good school academically. It's in a good location and I have a good relationship with Coach Golden. I met him in person a few times. He came to my school and saw me and made it very clear that he wants me to go there. I have a good relationship with the offensive line coach, Coach Kehoe, and Coach D'Onofrio. They've just been great throughout the whole thing. It's just a great place."

While Henson (6-foot-5 and 275 pounds) does not have a set timetable to make a decision, he spoke about a tentative schedule for the upcoming recruiting process.

"I'd like to start narrowing it down by the spring. I really don't know when I'm going to make my final decision, it could be this summer, it could be next January."

The recruiting world on Scout will certainly be tuned in.
