UM commit collecting major offers

Miami was the first major school to offer defensive tackle Keith Bryant and since then he's taken unofficial visits to a few other schools and landed offers from them. Read on to see what the Atlantic High standout says about that and more.

Atlantic High School defensive tackle and University of Miami commit Keith Bryant has been a long time fan of the Hurricanes.

"It's always been the school I liked growing up. I've always been a fan of the U, watching Vince Wilfork, and I still to this day watch his highlights from Miami. He just inspires me. It seems like a real good school."

Bryant, 6-foot-2 and 295 pounds, is confident in Al Golden leading the Canes back to the top.

"I feel like Al Golden is going to turn it around. I like the way he speaks on things and approaches things. It sounds like he knows what he's doing. It's going to take a while, but that school's going to turn around. I know that for a fact."

Still, the recruiting process continues to heat up for the Delray Beach, FL native. He's landed offers from schools like Florida State, Florida, and Georgia in recent weeks. Another offer took Bryant by surprise.

"I just got an offer from USC," he said. "I don't know too much about the school, but I see them on TV and I watched some Reggie Bush highlights. Anything that has to do with football, I'm going to watch it. Put it that way."

Meanwhile, Bryant remains committed to bettering himself. He's already one of the state's premier players at his position.

"I'm going to get better. I'm working every day to get better. The classroom comes first before football. I'm taking a lot of classes now so I can have everything situated so that there won't be any problems with the NCAA. When I'm done with that, I work out at night and run sprints."

While Bryant insists that his commitment to the Hurricanes is solid, he plans to take all five of his visits and spoke a little about the rationale.

"It's still nice to have the experience, because it only comes once in a lifetime."
