Camp Update: Willie Williams

At 6-foot-2 1/4 and 228 pounds, Miami (Fla.) Carol City standout linebacker Willie Williams is one of the most talented players at the Miami camp that's been going on this weekend. He talked about his experience so far.

"It's been going great so far," Williams said. "I've just been doing my thing out there, showing the coaches that I'm ready."

Williams has been working with coaches Vernon Hargreaves and Randy Shannon.

"They're both cool to work with and play for," he said. "I like the way both of them coach."

The talented linebacker has been lining up with running backs and tight ends during drills.

"The best one out there is Charlie [Jones]," he said. "Me and him have a friendly competition out there. You know me, I love to compete so whenever I get a chance to go up against someone like that it's a good thing. I just wish we could do it with pads on. He's a great player and he's always ready to go. I also saw a wide receiver from California [Cameron Colvin] out there. He looks like he already plays there."

Williams said he hopes to finish strong on Monday, the final day of the camp.

"I'm just having fun," he said. "That's what it's all about. I'll finish strong and hopefully leave a lasting impression to everyone that watches me out there."
