LB Enjoys Camp Experience

At 5-foot-10 and 225 pounds, Lakeland (Fla.) George Jenkins standout Mozell Axson went to UM's camp this weekend hoping to impress the coaching staff.

He did just that.

"They gave me the award for top linebacker," he said afterwards. "I was real happy because there were a lot of great linebackers out there and for them to pick me was great. I worked hard for it."

The talented middle linebacker prospect said he was very impressed with South Dade running back Charlie Jones.

"Him and Tyease were like in a league of their own," he said. "He has great moves and is really quick."

The talented linebacker met with UM coach Larry Coker after the camp.

"He didn't offer or anything yet but he said they're going to be keeping in touch," he said. "He told me to keep up the good work."

Axson currently has scholarship offers from Louisville, Iowa State, and Kansas.
