LB Still Waiting

One of the major reasons why Miami (Fla.) Edison standout linebacker Brouce Mompremier attended the University of Miami summer camp this past weekend was so he could possibly receive a scholarship offer.

"I did what I could," Mompremier said. "I was trying to do my thing out there. Hopefully the coaches liked what they saw in me."

The talented linebacker said he spoke to the UM coaches but hasn't yet been offered.

"Coach Shannon and Coach Hargreaves said they'll be in touch with me," he said. "They said they'll be keeping a close eye on me because they're real interested. I just gotta keep ballin and keep showing them that I got what it takes to play there."

Mompremier plans on attending LSU's camp in a few weeks. The Hurricanes, however, are still the favorite.

"I'm still trying to get that offer from UM so I'll just have to work a little harder and hope for the best," he said.
