Analysis: Ebenezer Ogundeko was offered by Miami last week and is the top-rated prospect in the state of New York, according to Scout. At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, he's an edge pass rusher in high school and projects either as an outside 'backer or a defensive end in college. He's very athletic and has a lot of scholarship offers. A one-time commitment to UConn, he is now wide open with the recruiting process and the only visit he plans on taking, as of now, is to Notre Dame this summer. After that, his plans are wide open and he doesn't have a list of favorites yet. Miami is somewhere in the mix but until he starts narrowing down his list or choosing some visits to take, it's going to be tough to tell what Miami's chances are going to be. His close friend, running back Augustus Edwards, is also being actively recruited and the two have expressed interest in going to college together. Miami is recruiting Edwards as well but they haven't offered him yet. Ogundeko is definitely a player to keep an eye on at a position (DE) where the Canes may sign just one.
