At 6-feet 1/2 and 190 pounds, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas standout defensive back Anthony Reddick recently came back from the Bishop & Dullighan Skills Camp where he was the top defensive back in attendance.

"It was a fun camp," Reddick said. "There wasn't a whole lot of competition though and that's the main reason I went. I'm also going to Georgia's camp and I may do the one at Purdue."

The standout defensive back, who scored an 1170 on the SAT, also competes in basketball and track (22.2 200m, 4x4, and 4x1).

Reddick caught the attention of UM defensive coordinator Randy Shannon when the UM coach was in recruiting Tavares Gooden last year.

"He called me in the spring and also came by to watch one of our spring practices," he said. "He was basically asking me if I liked Miami and stuff like that. He told me that I'm one of the top defensive backs he had seen this year. He likes how I'm big and how aggressive I am. He said they'll be keeping in contact with me and will be watching my senior season closely."

The talented defensive back, who ran a 4.22 shuttle at the NIKE Camp in April, has not yet received an offer from the Hurricanes. He hopes to in the near future.

"UM's the one I'm aiming at right now," he said. "They're my top choice. I really like their style of play. Their defensive backs play in your face and I like that."

Reddick said his offer sheet is up to at least eight right now. "I've been offered by Virginia Tech, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan State, North Carolina, Illinois, Iowa State, and Rutgers," he said. "I'm going to keep my options open. After UM then I also like Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech. They're all good schools in case Miami doesn't offer me."

Reddick said looking over the depth charts at the cornerback position will have no effect on his final decision.

"I will play my hardest no matter who else is there," he said. "Anything can happen so if a team has a bunch of cornerbacks, it won't bother me at all. I'm going in to compete so everyone they have better be ready to do the same thing."
