Analysis: Alex Collins made a commitment to Miami a few months ago after landing an offer from the Canes following one of the Junior Day events. At 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Collins was one of the most productive running backs in all of Florida last season at South Plantation High and he has a tremendous size/speed combination. Despite his commitment, he's taken recent visits to Wisconsin and Florida State and says those two schools are still actively recruiting him. Wisconsin's coaches have a real good relationship with the coaches at his school and have a few players on the roster that are close to Collins. He liked the college life there, too. They seem to be posting a legitimate threat to Miami right now in terms of getting his commitment away from the Canes but he remains pledged to Miami, the school he grew up wanting to play for. This is definitely a situation we will continue to monitor closely.
