Local DB camped at UM, hoping for offer

This local defensive back took in Miami's camp last weekend and is now hoping for an offer. Read on for more...

Analysis: Troy McCollum put his name on the recruiting map with a strong junior season at North Miami High. At 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, he emerged as one of the top cover guys in the area. With Division 1 type skills, he has picked up six BCS scholarship offers up until now. His dream is to play at the University of Miami and he was invited to their camp last weekend. He says he did well and spoke to the coaches after, who are still making an evaluation on him. Numbers are going to be very tight at cornerback this season after they signed a large class in 2012 so an offer will be hard to come by at that spot. He's likely going to have to try earning one with strong play during the season.
