Analysis: Artie Burns is one of the state's top overall prospects. At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, the Miami Northwestern standout could end up playing either cornerback or safety in college. He's a premier athlete with ideal size and is still developing his skills as a football player. His best days are ahead but his skillset is rare, which is why he has offers from all over. He made an early commitment to Alabama, going back to last football season, but has since backed off that and has opened things back up. Miami offered him very early and has built a good relationship with him. He's considered a big priority for Miami in their 2013 class and they seem to be doing well here. Florida State seems like the toughest competition right now, as he's been up there before and they're also recruiting him hard. Burns will likely take his visits and wait till late in the process before making a decision but the Canes seem to be in good shape as of now.
