Thomas (6-3/205) is considered by some to be the state's top overall prospect. The Booker T. Washington High standout has enough size and a tremendous amount of speed and athleticism. He's being recruited by everyone in college football. He grew up a Canes fan and Miami seems to be battling Alabama for the top spot on his list. He has to be considered a major priority for the Canes and would likely see immediate playing time here.
Grace (6-1/190) is a very fast and athletic linebacker prospect from Miramar High. He's very active and around the ball a lot. He grew up a Canes fan, says Miami offered early, and he's been to the school a few times in recent months. He seems like a kid they're still evaluating, while Thomas decides what he's going to do.
Williams (5-11/225) is a tremendous football player at Hialeah High. He plays wide receiver, running back, and linebacker. He lacks ideal height, which may limit his upside some but he's very good and says the Canes were one of his first offers. Like Grace, he's probably a kid who still has to earn his way into this class. Don't expect him to be able to commit anytime soon. He's definitely on the radar though.
Bottom Line: The Canes will likely sign just one or two linebackers in this year's class after taking four last year. Thomas is the big one. If they get him, it's a huge win. If not, look for players like Grace and Williams to be more in play.
