What they're saying: "Collins is the best combination of size and speed in the state and we feel he is going to be the top back to come out of Florida this year. When you factor in how 'raw' he is with the physical upside of getting stronger, great things are possible here down the road. He definitely fits a more pro style attack and those are the types of schools that are recruiting him. Bottom line, we look for great things from Collins down the road." -- Geoff Vogt/Scout.com
Recruiting Status: Committed (but still considering Wisconsin and Florida State)
What he's saying about Miami: "Miami has great history, they put running backs in the NFL, it is close to home, and they have so much to like there. I feel good about Miami, but I still want to see what else is out there."
Miami angle: In a loaded year for running backs in South Florida, Collins is the one that Miami wanted the most. He was the first one they offered and they went hard after his commitment. He chose the Canes early in the process, saying that's what he's always wanted to do. Florida State and especially Wisconsin have not stopped recruiting him, though. He took a spring break visit to Wisconsin and says he plans on going back there for a return trip. They've recruited his school well in recent years and pose a solid threat to the Canes. However, the location and his longtime desire to be a Hurricane will likely overcome his attraction to the Badgers. He's a premier talent who should be able to come in and play right away.
