Scout Ranking: 4-star and No. 29 WR
Measurables: 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds with 4.6 speed
2011 Stats: He finished his junior season with 40 catches for 650 yards and six touchdowns.
What they're saying: "Jones played safety as a sophomore and he was solid at that position, but offense is where he will play on the next level. He really developed as a wideout over the past year and he still has his best football ahead of him." -- Chad Simmons/Scout.com
Recruiting Status: Jones has been to Florida State and Auburn recently and they seem to have an edge over the 20+ other schools who have offered, including Miami.
What he's saying about Miami: "Miami offered me in the spring but I don't know a lot about the school and all that yet. I know it's a good program that's got a lot of history."
Miami angle: He's become one of the state's most heavily recruited wide receivers. At 6-foot-4, he brings a lot to the table as a prospect and Miami could use a 6-4 receiver in this class. He's from so far away that Miami's chances of getting him to leave his area will be very difficult. It's likely a longshot here.
