A: We got to get better. I don't think we played as well as we could have. But, the mistakes that we have made at this point are correctable.
Q: What would you say were the biggest mistakes that you saw out there on the field?
A: We just have to make more plays. We don't want to be average. We have talent [that] can run and hit.
Q: Have you been feeling the toll from some of the injuries that you have gotten this year?
A: I mean, obviously, it affects the continuity because of guys being in and out. We got a young group of guys. They need to get all the reps that they can get. Even the older guys are young. The majority of our guys, even seniors, they're really one year starters at the best. Ramon Buchanan is a one year starter; Jimmy Gaines started half a season. Even our starters or older guys are very inexperienced. So, by them not being in the field they hold back on that experience that leads them to be effective. This is a sport that you don't just sit down and watch film. This is a sport that you got to go out there and get better. But, on the flip side, [having guys out] also gives us a chance to see what the younger guys can do.
Q: Were there any players out there that stuck out and you were happy to see perform well?
A: I'm like a dad. All these dudes are like babies learning to walk, so I smile. So every time I see something that I have been coaching or see a player make a play, it's just not coming from one individual. All these guys I'm proud of.
Q: Do you see anyone rising to the top this year?
A: I hope all of them do. That's my job as a coach, to get all of them to perform as best as they can. I'm excited about all of them. I want to see what all of them can this year. I think we all got the talent, and, like I said, we are a little inexperienced this year, but that doesn't bother me. We can get the job done.
