UM Football Scoop: 8/16

A lot is happening in Coral Gables as the Canes continue preparing for the start of the 2012 season. Here are some news and notes from today.

* The Hurricanes held a two-a-day session today. They will have a practice tomorrow, then scrimmage (closed to the public and media) Saturday. They will resume practice next week and preseason camp ends on Wednesday. After that, the team will begin preparation for Boston College.

* Al Golden says he's been pleased with how camp's gone. They are hitting a bit of a wall right now and must push through it. He commented how they're pleased with how few injuries there have been.

* Anthony Chickillo was wearing a yellow jersey (limited) again today because of a stomach virus.

* Golden again praised Kacy Rodgers, saying he's doing well and just needs to gain the confidence needed to run the show back there.

* Allen Hurns was limited today due to a head injury. "I don't know how long he'll be out," Golden said.

* Maurice Hagens has had an excellent camp -- catching, blocking, and his mistakes have been limited. Golden said he'll play a lot more (no more time share with John Calhoun like last season) but his touches may not necessarily increase.

* Seantrel Henderson went home again yesterday to attend another funeral. He's now missed 16 practices and hasn't even been cleared to participate yet.

* Gionni Paul returned to practice this week and had a solid performance in Tuesday's Special Teams scrimmage. He's doing better.
