James: This team feels different

Mike James is eager and ready to go against Boston College. He has confidence in his team and in their training. See what Miami's top running back has to say about his team's readiness before the game.

Q: How different does everything seem from last year?
A: It looks and feels different. You know, guys are coming in prepared, and they understand that this is the first game. We played them last year for our last game. We got some things that we got to handle. BC is a great ball club, so we're going to do everything we can do and play to the best of our abilities to beat them.

Q: How eager are you to go against BC?
A: I'm very eager. I've been waiting since the last play from last year. I can't wait until that play comes (plays that he will be a part of), whenever Coach Fisch calls it in the game plan; I'm going to do the best of my ability to score.

Q: You're a starter on your offense. Does that entail any responsibilities?
A: Just being a leader in general is a responsibility. You know, the guys look up to me and that's honor, which means I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm just doing everything I can to get my teammates prepared for the game.

Q: Do you have a favorite play that you feel comfortable with?
A: Every time I'm getting the ball is my favorite play. (Laughs)

Q: You guys have lost a lot of good players from last year. What gives you the confidence to go out there and do better than last time? A: The biggest thing for us is the work that we've put in. Coach Golden and his staff have done a great job of implementing ground zero: the things we need to know, how we need to get better. We're not comparing this team to last year. It's a new team, new year and new guys. So it doesn't really matter. We don't look at age.

Q: Do you have a feeling of where Stephen Morris is?
A: Stephen has been the same guy every day. He's been doing the things that Coach Golden and Coach Fisch have asked [of] him. He is going to lead his team vocally and by examples. I look into his eyes and see that he's ready to go. He can't wait for Saturday and I can't wait either to see him play.
