"It's been a little while for me," he said. "There comes a point where you just can't take it anymore and believe me, I've been there a few times this summer."
Robinson plans on arriving at UM on August 3, the day freshmen are to officially report as a group.
"I would be there now but I got the girl [friend] back home," he said. "She's been wanting me to stay but she ain't coming with me (laughing while listening to her scream at him in the background)."
Two question marks surrounding the talented lineman heading into the summer were his academic status as well as the knee injury from last year.
"I'm straight on those now," he said. "I'm all set to start up at Miami in a couple weeks. I'll be ready for practice."
Robinson, who now checks in at 6-3 and 315, has spent the past several months preparing for his career as a Hurricane.
"When I had a chance to pick my own college, I wanted the best," he said. "That's why I picked Miami. I knew I'd be competing with the best players day in and day out. I know they're probably there now working hard but I have been too. I'm getting about 4 to 415 up on the bench and I've been running a lot of 100's on my own. I start with 20 of them and work my way down, 15, 10."
Robinson said he's also spent a lot of time this summer playing pickup basketball to work on his conditioning. "I play around a little," he said. "It's helped get me ready."
The talented lineman said he's hoping to make an impact as soon as possible for the Hurricanes.
"I'm gonna try to do whatever I can," he said. "They got good coaches and everything so I'll be ready. Practice ain't too far off and I'll be ready for whatever they got."
