Manzi is a baller on both sides

Manzi Mathews from South Fort Myers will be one of the top recruits from the Sunshine State next season in the Class of 2014.

One of the top prospects next season in the class of 2014 will be D'Ronzjaih Mathews from South Fort Myers High School in southwest Florida. He's a big time kid on either side of the ball.

"He just has sheer speed," said Grant Readhead, South Fort Myers coach. "He's so explosive on offense and defense. You should see this kid get to the football. On offense he's a big physical runner that has a great burst."

Mathews was nicknamed ‘Man-zi' at an early age because he played like a man amongst boys. For South Fort Myers he stars at running back and linebacker. According to Readhead, most of the SEC and ACC have already offered him.

"South Carolina told me that this kid is a no brainer," Readhead said. "Florida's offered. So has Arkansas and Miami. I know LSU and Alabama are on him. Most of the SEC and ACC have already offered him. I bet by the end of spring everyone will have offered him. Alabama likes him as a running back. Most of everyone else likes him on defense."

Mathews is 6-foot-0 and 210-pounds.
