Griffin Goins does a little bit of everything for Hollywood (Fla.) Hollywood Hills High School. He plays linebacker, fullback and punts.
This past Friday, he and his teammates were severely tested against the state's top running back in five-star recruit Alex Collins from South Plantation.
You can easily say that Goins had a super game. He man's the middle [linebacker] of the Hollywood Hills defense and he was up to the challenge in trying to contain one of the best offensive prospects in the country. Many times on Thursday night Goins met Collins in the hole and took him down. In at least a half a dozen one on one confrontations with Collins, Goins made a good, sound fundamental tackle.
Goins, 6-foot-0 and 230-pounds, lacks ideal height but makes up for it with his speedy, instinctive and aggressive style. He can take on and defeat blocks at the point of attack and go get the ball. Goins is very good in the hole or chasing laterally.
Below are some highlights from his game against South Plantation last Thursday.
