Injury Report: VT Game

The Hurricanes are relatively healthy heading into Thursday's showdown against Virginia Tech.

The only player listed on this week's injury report that hasn't already had season-ending surgery is weakside linebacker Denzel Perryman.

Perryman, who has been bothered by an ankle injury ever since he first suffered it against Bethune Cookman, has been playing really well the last few weeks. While he might not be at 100-percent, he's pretty close and is still considered by many to be Miami's top defensive player. He should play a big role in Thursday's game.

Jimmy Gaines, the team's starter inside, and Raphael Kirby (Gaines' backup) are both 100-percent and ready to go.

One notable absence from this week's injury report is defensive tackle Curtis Porter. Widely considered the team's top run-stuffer inside, Porter hasn't played any yet this season but seems to be ready to make his first appearance on Thursday. Porter might not be able to play a lot of snaps yet but his return should provide a major boost for Miami's struggling run defense.

Outside linebacker Ramon Buchanan, backup running back Eduardo Clements, backup offensive tackle Benjamin Jones, freshman receiver Malcolm Lewis, and long snapper Sean McNally are all out for the season.
