Live Evaluation: 2014 WR Braxton Berrios

Over the past few seasons, Braxton Berrios has become a one of most dynamic playmakers in North Carolina. This year, Berrios has been the catalyst for an undefeated Leesville Road football team. Last week, FOX Sports Next saw him in action and he did not disappoint.

Prospect: Braxton Berrios

Hometown: Raleigh, N.C.

High School: Leesville Road

Position: Wide receiver

Size: 5-foot-10, 170 pounds

Class: 2014

Recruiting : Berrios has scholarship offers from Duke, East Carolina, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. He is also being heavily recruiting by Clemson and Ohio State.

Live Evaluation came from Leesville Road-Middle Creek game on November 9.

Scouting Report: Braxton Berrios is a jack of all trades on the football field. In this game alone, he lined up at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, kick returner, cornerback, safety, and even punter.

He finished the evening with 95 yards rushing, 50 yards receiving, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two touchdowns.

While he plays several positions at the high school level, Berrios will play slot receiver and likely see some time as a return man in college.

The Leesville Road star is a gamer and wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line. Berrios is a tremendous athlete that is a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball. He has great quickness and agility. The junior has soft hands and does a nice job getting in and out of his cuts. Berrios is also extremely dangerous in the open field and does great job of making defenders miss.

Along with his physical abilities, Berrios is also a very smart football player and has a great work ethic. He is a leader and plays with a competitive fire rarely seen in high school athletes. Berrios just understands the game and plays it the right way.

Overall, there is a lot to like about Berrios' game. While some may question his size, he makes up for it in so many ways. He is a high-character kid that loves to play football. I expect him to be a very good player at the college level.
