Major change for Mostella

It all seemed set up for a spring decision for Detrick Mostella, however have plans taken a turn?

It was looking like four-star guard Detrick Mostella was going to wait until the spring signing period to pull the trigger on his college decision, but now that doesn't seem to be the case. The La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere scorer now seems intent on signing early.

Leading up to the fall signing period all the indications both publicly and privately were that Mostella was focused on his grades and once he got those in order would being to look seriously at his recruitment before a spring decision. However he now says things have changed.

"Well for real I am going to sign on Monday most likely," indicated Mostella. "I don't know for sure yet, but I think I will sign on Monday."

He continued, "I am considering Georgetown, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Miami, SMU, and a few other schools."

At this point Mostella hasn't visited any of the schools on his list, but he will visit one school shortly, though he declined to mention which one.

When asked why he has moved up the timing of his decision, Mostella said he is listening to his family and coaches.

"I've been talking to my parents and my AAU coach, and they know where they want me to go and what is the best place for me, so I am just doing it for all my people," he explained.

With a decision looking likely to come in the next day or so, it looks like one of the best scorers in the class will no longer be on the board for college coaches.
