DE receives visit from Golden

This defensive end prospect says he received a visit from Miami head coach Al Golden on Thursday. Read on to see what he's saying about it, and more.

Devante Bond is one of the top Junior College defensive end prospect in the entire nation this year.

At 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Bond is a pass rushing specialist who finished his sophomore season with 77 tackles, 26 for loss, 17 sacks, and three caused fumbles.

Bond took an official visit to Miami last weekend and that was followed up with an in-home visit from coach Al Golden on Thursday.

"He came down in the morning with Coach Franklin," Bond said. "It went real good. I'm happy that they came down. I'm definitely considering Miami."

Bond is also being actively recruited by schools like Syracuse, Fresno State, and West Virginia but hasn't set anything else up.

"I don't have any visits," he said. "I'll be graduating in May."

Because of being a May graduate, Bond will be able to take some trips in January. He'll use those, he says, to compare to his Miami experience. He talked what will be important to him.

"Being a JUCO guy I'm trying to get in somewhere and play early, I also want to be comfortable with the coaches and team. Also, academics play a big factor when I choose a school."
