's board. At 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Sandland is one of the top Junior College tight end prospects in America. He was recruited nationally, landed an offer from the Canes early in the process, visited here two weekends ago, and hosted Al Golden and a couple other Miami coaches in his home a few days ago.
Arizona State is the other finalist for the talented pass-catcher. He also considered Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas Tech, and others.
Sandland is set to announce his decision and sign his papers (since he's a mid year graduate) this coming Wednesday at 11 am EST.
The Hurricanes currently have tight end commitments from Standish Dobard, Travis Johnson, and Jeremy Kerr, and they would like to add Sandland to round out the class at a position where the Canes need a lot of help.
