"Friday, I met the coaches, met everybody, hung out with players. My host was (LSU fullback) J.C. (Copeland). I hung out with him. Saturday morning, I woke up, we got a tour of the school. It was a great tour. The academics part was great."
The senior defensive tackle visited Baton Rouge with his mother and he says she was also very impressed with the school.
"My main focus was to get her to see the academic part, once I got her to see the academic part I knew from there where I was going to stand," Bain said.
The University School (Fort Lauderdale, FL) standout said the visit couldn't have gone better, that LSU reminded him of his high school team (a team that just won a state championship).
"They showed me everything, the coaches loved me. The coaches are just like our coaches, the players are just like our players. There's just one goal – to get a degree and a national championship," he said.
Bain spent a lot of time talking to several of the Tigers' coaches and really bought into what they had to say to him.
"Coach Les Miles, I talked to him probably four or five times on the trip, just to get to know him and where he stands, and so he could get to know me a little bit better outside of football," he said.
"They want me to be a part of it. I'm like their number one d-tackle that they want. I talked to Les Miles, Coach Raymond, Coach Haley – we sat down and talked about how I could be a good role model and a good fit for their team on defense."
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound athlete also enjoyed spending time with the LSU players.
"I got a great vibe from them, they just told me if I decide to go there, I don't have to worry about anything, that it's a great team bond. That's just what I'm looking for, just like high school at University School," he said.
Bain doesn't plan to take anymore visits and will announce his decision at the Under Armour All-American Game on January 4th. His top five are LSU, Oklahoma, Miami, USC, and Marshall. Stay tuned to FOX Sports NEXT for the latest.
