WR Coach Candidate: Wes Chandler

George McDonald recently took the wide receiver job at Arkansas. That means Al Golden must find a replacement. CanesTime's Mike Bakas takes a look at possible replacements.

Note: This is simply one man's opinion of possibilities. There has not been any evidence of this coach being connected with the job.

Wes Chandler - free agent

Chandler was recently let go by new California head coach Sonny Dykes. He spent just one year on the Cal staff before they went through a coaching change within the last month. Prior to that, Chandler had spent six seasons coaching wide receivers at the pro level -- for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, and Cleveland Browns. He is from the state of Florida, played his college ball in this state, and has even coached in it (at Central Florida back in the mid 90's). He was an All-American wide receiver in college at the University of Florida, and then went on to have a very successful professional career.

Chandler has a tremendous coaching resume. He is not currently employed, and would likely be a tremendous addition to this coaching staff. He's coached at the highest level, has a lot of Florida ties, and it seems like he'd make a real good candidate for Al Golden.
