Four catches for 37 yards.
He expects to touch the ball more than four times in Monday night's Chick-fil-A Bowl matchup versus LSU.
"They're using me more in practice. They're getting me the ball, doing a lot of things different than the South Carolina week," he said. "We didn't do that many things South Carolina week, me being in the playbook. I didn't get too many looks.
"But I'm pretty sure, this game, I'm going to get a lot of 1-on-1 matches and get open."
Offensive coordinator Chad Morris confirmed the news.
"We expect Sammy to be Sammy," Morris said. "Sammy needs to play well -- as they all do.
"We are going to turn him loose."
After the most exciting freshman campaign in Clemson history, Watkins followed up with a sluggish 2012.
In nine games this season, Watkins has 57 catches for 708 yards and three touchdowns. He's also rushed 13 times for 100 yards.
Six of the carries and 95 of the rushing yards were in the first two games he played, Furman and Florida State. He also caught 10 passes for 76 yards in those two games.
"I think we all know when looking at Sammy and the way the year has went with him with the suspension early on and coming back for a game, then getting sick and missing a game," Morris said. "Really, it was a hard time for him to get into the flow of the season."
Last season, Watkins had five games which he went over 100 yards receiving. He also caught multiple touchdown passes three different times.
In 2012, Watkins has two 100-plus yard receiving games and no games where he caught more than one touchdown.
"I've just got to bring back the old Sammy," Watkins said.
After several practices inside the Georgia Dome, he feels ready to get back to his usual, spectacular self.
"It's a fast turf, a fast track," Watkins said of the Georgia Dome's playing surface. "Right now, it's not even at its best. But I'm pretty sure [on] Monday it will be. So I'm pretty sure I can run pretty fast here."
