Semper Fi: UM Notebook

Scout's recruiting team is there covering the event and several items are worth discussing tonight.

* 5-star RB Alex Collins says he has scheduled his final two visits -- Miami on Jan 18 and Arkansas on Jan 25. He's already been to Florida State, Florida, and Wisconsin. Arkansas has become a big factor because his high school coach has direct ties there, like he previously had at Wisconsin. The Razorbacks now appear to be the top competition from outside the state. Miami is still in good shape here, though.

* LB Jermaine Grace says he plans to visit Louisville, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas A&M during the month of January. He's already seen Miami earlier this month. Grace, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, is one of the top linebacker prospects in South Florida. He says he plans to make his final decision on Signing Day. Miami is still his likely destination.

* 4-star RB David Williams says he plans to announce his decision at the game on Friday. He's cut his list down to Arizona State, Penn State, and South Carolina. Williams, 6-feet and 200 pounds, was scheduled to visit Miami on Jan 25 but that now appears to be off. Miami may continue recruiting him after Friday but it's doubtful since he's such a major longshot.

* 4-star OL Josh Outlaw says he plans to visit Miami in January. Considered one of the top OL prospects in Georgia, Outlaw has already visited Utah. He plans to see UM, West Virginia, Oregon, and TCU during the month of January. At 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, Outlaw to Miami remains a longshot but the Canes are still in the mix. Miami will likely sign a 4th OL to the three they already have committed, and the top target remains Denver Kirkland.
