Ross will announce during Semper Fi Game

Long Beach Jordan (Calif.) wide out John Ross had a great workout on Monday at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. The receiver talked about day one of practices as well as his upcoming decision.

The receiver group looked very strong on Monday and John Ross was as good as anyone. Ross showed explosive speed, good hands and was getting deep all practice long.

"It's definitely an honor to be out here because the Marines are involved in this game and they serve our country," Ross said. "To have an opportunity to play in front them, and showcase your talent, it makes you feel good. There's a great group of guys out here, a lot of good DBs like Johnny Johnson, L.J. Moore and Daquawn Brown and I'm really enjoying the competition.

"There's some really good receivers out here too. Devon Allen, Devin Ross and Xavier Shepherd all really impressed me. These are guys I've heard about but have never seen play before so it's been fun to meet those guys and work out with them and test yourself and see where you're at."

Ross has taken official visits to Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA and Washington and planned to take one more before making his decision. He may still take that last visit but he has decided to make his commitment this Friday during the Semper Fi game.

"I want to go where I'm being recruited the hardest and one school is definitely standing out from that perspective," Ross said. "Things are kind of getting stressful for me and I would like to focus on school and not worry as much about recruiting. I think it would be cool to show my love for one of these schools and announce for them to show how much I appreciate how much love they have shown for me.

"Right now, I'm honestly still undecided. I'm real strong on a couple of colleges but I haven't made my final decision yet. I'm leaning to one school, but I'm not 100% yet. Honestly, I'm just going to go with my gut. On Friday, I plan to just wake up and go with the school that is in my heart."
