The University of Miami Men's Basketball team won their second game of the season today by defeating Jacksonville University by the score of 73-57.
In front of 3,135 fans at home, the Hurricanes cruised to a big win over their in-state opponent.
Hurricane freshman Shane Larkin scored 27 points, with 21 coming in a strong second half. He also added five assists in the game, while Rion Brown grabbed a team-high five rebounds for Miami.
Playing without top scorer Reggie Johnson because a sore tailbone, the Canes jumped out to a 27-23 halftime lead before really turning it on in the second half to cruise for the win.
JU's Dylan Fitch scored 23 off the bench, leading his team.
The starters for the Hurricanes were Larkin, Trey McKinney, Brown, Kenny Kadji and Julian Gamble.
Miami is now 2-2 on the season and will take on the Detroit Titans in their next game.
