UM Recruiting Scoop: 1/2 (US Army Game)

Four key players on Miami's Big Board are playing in the US Army Game this Saturday. Three of them spoke to the media in the last 48 hours about the recruiting process.

* 4-star DT Keith Bryant is having a good week of practice. At 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds, he's one of the state's top prospects at his position. Bryant had been committed to Miami for several months but backed off it recently. He took an in-season visit to Purdue and says he plans to visit Florida State, USC, Georgia, and Miami in January. USC and Georgia are on the outside looking in. Purdue was for his teammates. This is a UM/FSU battle that will go down to the wire. I have it at 55/45 in favor of Miami as of right now.

* 5-star RB Derrick Green is one of Miami's main targets at running back. He will likely take a visit to Miami later this month but hasn't scheduled one just yet. He said he favors Michigan, and they've been considered the team to beat from day one. He's been there several times. It'll be hard to tell what Miami's chances will really be until he visits but he's a 5-star player for Miami fans to continue keeping an eye on.

* 4-star DE Alquadin Muhammad is set to announce on Saturday at the game. He's from New Jersey, one of his former coaches is now on the Rutgers staff, he's close to Rutgers, and has been there several times. He took an official visit to Miami in December but it likely wasn't enough to overcome his strong desire to stay close to home. Darius Hamilton did it last year, and Muhammad will likely do it Saturday -- choose to stay home and play at Rutgers over coming to Miami.
