Bain fell in love with LSU

Maquedius Bain has had his mind made up for a little while now about his college decision, but today he officially announced that he'll be an LSU Tiger. The 2013 defensive tackle said there is nothing he doesn't like about LSU and his official visit there last month solidified that. Get the latest from Bain right here.

Maquedius Bain and his University School (Fort Lauderdale, FL) team are coming off an undefeated season and a state title win in Florida. It's a close-knit program and that's exactly what he was looking for at the next level. Bain said he found that at LSU.

"LSU is a great school, Les Miles is a great coach. He's just like (University School Head Coach) Roger Harriott and I just fell in love with him once I found out how he was," he said.

"(My commitment is) very solid, this is where I'm going, this is where I'm going to spend my next four years, and this is where I'm going to graduate from."

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman chose the Tigers over Oklahoma and Miami. He said he fits perfectly into the LSU defense and just loves the way those guys play.

"They're like studs on defense. Montgomery is an animal, (Bennie Logan) is an animal, and (Barkevious Mingo) is an animal. They're whole defense is animals. They produce defensive linemen, they produce DBs – their whole defense practically goes to the league and that's where I want to go," he said.

"They're losing a lot of guys. (Playing time) isn't a big concern to me, I just have to go in and I have to play hard."

This week, Bain has gotten to spend plenty of time with fellow LSU defensive tackle commitment Greg Gilmore and practice for the Under Armour All-American Game and the two have been developing a great bond.

"Oh man, Greg is an awesome guy. I got to hang out with him, he's funny. I know I'm going to spend my next four years with him and we're just going to joke around," he said.

"We've been talking a lot of trash about Alabama (this week)."

Bain also said he's excited to play at the next level with another one of his friends from South Florida in cornerback Rashard Robinson. Seems like the LSU 2013 class is already becoming pretty close. Stay tuned to FOX Sports NEXT for all your recruiting coverage.
