Testing Numbers on UM Prospects

Under Armour held its national combine a few ago and they have released their numbers. Here are UM-related ones, with my comments.

Reilly Gibbons: 6-4, 274, 4.64/40, 5.08/shuttle, 22 vert, 8-0 broad, 20 reps @ 185

He grew up playing tight end but played a lot of offensive tackle this past season. He checked in a little smaller than expected but his 40-time was excellent, and he showed solid strength. Because of his size and blocking history, Gibbons is considered by most to be a future offensive tackle. It'll be interesting to see if he can gain an extra inch or two before next year. Miami is one of his 20+ offers. He's from St. Pete Catholic.

Corey Holmes: 6-0.75, 166, 4.48, 4.15, 36, 10-5, 7
He was the top playmaker at WR for St Thomas, which just won a state title. His numbers are outstanding. He's a legitimate outside receiver who produces, has grades, and is off the charts athletically. The Canes are recruiting him, but haven't offered yet. He's definitely going to be one of the state's top WR prospects in the 2014 class.

Chase Litton: 6-5, 185, 4.83, 4.35, 29, 8-9, X
Many consider him to be the state's top QB prospect for next year. LSU offered him real early, but he's shown a lot of interest in Miami. He has ideal size, plus athleticism, and a huge arm. The Canes will likely sign a quarterback next year and Litton will be one for Miami fans to keep an eye on early on.

Travis Rudolph: 6-0, 177, 4.60, 4.22, 31, 9-6, 12
A UM commitment for several months now, Rudolph posted solid but yet unspectacular numbers at this event. He's not a burner, and it showed here. However, he's a tremendous football player who plays tough and can play on either side of the ball. He's coached at Cardinal Newman High by former UM quarterback Steve Walsh.

Chad Thomas: 6-4.75, 226, 4.93, 4.39, 26, 9-3, 11
An absolute beast on the football field, Thomas has all the tools. He has an NFL body. He'll likely end up 6-5 and close to 250 before his senior season starts. He makes plays, and is very tough to block. He's an elite level talent, who already has an offer from the Canes. The question right now with Thomas is whether he will end up being a DE or DT in college. Either way, remember the name.
