Hoops: Miami 54, Maryland 47

The University of Miami Men's Basketball team improved to 3-0 in the conference with a 54-47 win over Maryland tonight.

Despite shooting only 34.9-percent from the floor, and missing their final eight shots of the first half, the Hurricanes played well enough to beat the visiting Terrapins in front of 5,809 fans in Coral Gables.

Kenny Kadji scored 14 points to lead the Hurricanes, while Julian Gamble grabbed nine rebounds in the winning performance for Miami.

The Hurricanes struggled shooting from the field, but their defense kept Maryland from getting too close. The Hurricanes grabbed an early lead, and did a nice job of never letting go of it down the stretch.

Shane Larkin, Durand Scott, Trey McKinney Jones, Kadji, and Gamble were the five starters for the Hurricanes in this game.

The win sends Miami to 12-3 on the season, and 3-0 in the ACC for the first time in school history. Miami will look to continue its early season success at Boston College on Wednesday.
