With just two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster, NC State was in dire need of talented depth at that position. The Wolfpack got a huge shot in the arm on Wednesday when former Florida QB Jacoby Brissett made the decision to transfer to NC State after visiting both the Wolfpack and West Virginia this past weekend. The news was first broke by The Palm Beach Post and confirmed by Pack Pride earlier this evening.
After sitting out the 2013 season, Brissett will have two years of
eligibility remaining with the Pack.
After being heavily recruited by Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren
while at Wisconsin, Brissett originally committed to Florida over
offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Miami and South Carolina among
others. Scout.com rated him a four-star prospect and the No. 9
quarterback in the nation and Brissett was selected to the US Army
As a true freshman, Brissett started two games for the Gators,
facing LSU and Auburn in back to back weeks. In all, Brissett
appeared in seven games and completed 18 of 39 passes for 206 yards
while adding two rushing touchdowns.
This past season, Brissett appeared in three games- completing 23 of
35 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown. He also added one rushing
