WR Mike Williams Profile
He spoke with CUTigers shortly after the visit.
"It was great. I got a chance to chill with some of the players. [Went] with my mom and stepdad to see how the campus was and they liked it a lot," Williams said.
It was the first visit to Clemson for his mother and stepfather.
"I always took my grandma and my granddad [on previous trips]," Williams said.
Tajh Boyd served as his player host for the weekend.
"He was just saying that they're going to throw the ball a lot. He was saying the school is going to have great wide receivers because they like to throw the ball," Williams said. "When he told me that, it made me want to work harder when I get there, to show off my skills."
What was the message from Dabo Swinney during their 1-on-1 meeting?
"He basically was saying there shouldn't be any pressure on me, just go out there and do what I can do, there's no pressure," Williams said.
The No. 38 wide receiver in the class of 2013 will play the position that DeAndre Hopkins occupied for the last two seasons.
"They expect me to play the 9-position, catch a lot of balls and just help out with the team," Williams said.
As a senior, he finished with 60 catches for 1,395 yards and 10 touchdowns. Williams also recorded 19 tackles, three interceptions and two pass breakups.
