Whitehead wants to visit three

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Isaiah Whitehead, Scout.com's No. 7 shooting guard in the 2014 class, is still considering a host of schools, but he admitted to wanting to visit three high major programs.

Despite being in the midst of his junior season, 2014 wing Isaiah Whitehead spent some time discussing his recruitment following a blow out win at the Hoop Hall Classic this past weekend.

White, a four-star shooting guard out of Brooklyn (N.Y.) Lincoln, said he's currently considering 10 schools, but listed Louisville, Florida, St. John's, Syracuse, Kentucky, Arizona and Rutgers.

Whitehead said the next step in his recruitment is to set up college visits once his high school season ends.

"I'm probably going to take them after the season," Whitehead said. "Definitely Louisville, Syracuse and then maybe Kentucky."

"[That's] not [the] top three," Whitehead said. "They've been recruiting me, so I want to visit."

Syracuse has had Whitehead on campus a handful of times and Jim Boeheim evaluated him at his school at the beginning of the season.

"They've been there since seventh or eighth grade," Whitehead said about Syracuse. "They're always recruiting me hard. I've been down there twice."

Whitehead said Louisville has recently turned up their attention and he's expecting Rick Pitino to come to a game later in the season.

"They get after it," he said about Louisville. "I think I would fit perfectly with them. Up-and-down, my game is right for their system. They offered two months ago and keeping in contact. They came to my school."

Kentucky is also involved with Whitehead's recruitment.

"Kentucky is just Kentucky," Whitehead said. "You don't have to say anything else. John Calipari and those guys just play hard, up-and-down, play defense."

Whitehead is currently ranked No. 40 overall in the 2014 player rankings.
