One player most don't even know about yet is Rhyeem Lockley. According to the Middlesex (Va) standout, he'll be visiting Miami this weekend.
"I'm taking a visit to Miami this weekend," Lockley confirmed.
At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Lockley is a tremendous athlete who does a lot of things at his high school. On the gridiron, he never left the field. He gained over 1,000 yards rushing with 15 touchdowns in 2012. He added 27 catches for 598 yards and nine scores as a receiver. On defense, while playing defensive back, he had 49 tackles and one interception.
It doesn't end there. Lockley runs track and averaged 20 points per game in basketball as a junior last season. He's a terrific athlete.
At one of the Nike Training Camps last spring Lockley ran a 4.6 in the 40, and jumped 30 inches.
Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia were some of his early scholarship offers. With a good visit to Miami this weekend, there's a good chance he'll be a Hurricane next Wednesday.
Because Lockley plays so many positions at the prep level, and offers so much size and athleticism, his future position in college seems to be up in the air. On defense, he'd probably grow into the size of a linebacker. On offense, he'd probably be best used as a pass-catching tight end because of his ball skills and ability to make things happen in the open field.
