Hoops: Miami 87, UNC 61

The University of Miami Men's Basketball team put together another excellent performance, blowing out North Carolina by the score of 87-61.

Miami's dream season continues. The Hurricanes extended their winning streak to 11 games and improved to 19-3 on the season with a big win over North Carolina in front of 7,972 fans on Saturday.

The victory makes the Hurricanes 10-0 in the ACC, and it means they'll likely make a run at a Top 5 ranking for the first time in school history. The Canes entered the game ranked 8th in the national polls.

The Hurricanes started fast in this game and never let up. They jumped out to a 17-point lead in the first half, thanks to 57-percent shooting, including 10-of-16 from three-point range. The Canes did just enough in the second half to make sure the Tar Heels weren't able to narrow the lead at all.

Four Hurricanes were in double digits in points scored, with freshman Shane Larkin leading the way with 18. Durand Scott and Kenny Kadji added 17 each, while each grabbing six rebounds as well.

Reggie Bullock turned in the best performance for UNC (16-7, 6-4) in this game, scoring 17 points and adding seven boards in a losing effort.

The red-hot Hurricanes will travel north to take on arch-rival Florida State this coming Wednesday, as they try extending their winning streak to 12 games.
