Each player on this list holds FBS offers, with many of them holding double digit verbal offers. Take at look at 10 players (listed alphabetically) everyone should know in New Jersey, as well as 10 others it would be a good idea to know.
Saeed Blacknall, WR, 6-3, 190, Manalapan High, Englishtown, N.J.
Skinny: Blacknall had a monster junior season and brings a combination of speed, athleticism and terrific hands. He can run the short route and catch the ball in traffic or go behind the secondary for a big play. He has a few early offers, including ones from Michigan and Rutgers.
Garrett Dickerson, DE/TE, 6-4, 240, Bergen Catholic High, Oradell, N.J.
Dickerson is an intriguing prospect in schools like Ohio State offered him as a tight end but others schools are looking at him for defensive end. At the end of the day, his size and quickness make him a prime defensive end, and he can get up the field in a hurry. His brother, Cameron, is plays at Northwestern, and Dickerson is already approaching 20 offers.
Mike Gesicki, TE, 6-6, 220, Southern Regional High, Manahawkin, N.J.
Skinny: Gesicki is also a very good basketball player, and could take that avenue in college and play in the Ivy League. He plays receiver for Southern Regional but should grow into a tight end. He has good hands and gets down the field well. He also has nice hand-eye coordination and holds offers from Rutgers and Boston College.
Kiy Hester, CB, 6-1, 200, St. Joseph's-Montvale High, Montvale, N.J.
Skinny: Hester's double digit offer list includes Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Miami, West Virginia and Rutgers, and is one of the top players in the state. He is a big corner who can run, but could turn into a safety if he adds size. He can cover sideline-to-sideline as a safety, and also can hit.
Jonathan Hilliman, RB, 6-1, 210, St. Peter's Prep High, Jersey City, N.J.
Skinny: Hilliman showed improved ability to get to the corner and also runs well between the tackles. He doesn't have elite speed by he can get into the secondary and finish runs. Hilliman holds a bundle of verbal offers, including ones from Rutgers, Arkansas, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin.
Adonis Jennings, WR, 6-3, 190, Timber Creek Regional High, Erial, N.J.
Skinny: Jennings is a big-bodied receiver who is tough to bring down after the catch. He has strong hands and can catch the ball in traffic. He also has good feet and tracks the ball well. Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Temple are among the schools to offer him.
Quenton Nelson, OG, 6-4, 280, Red Bank (N.J.) Catholic High
Skinny: Nelson is the top offensive lineman in New Jersey's 2014 class, and he has close to two dozen offers to show for it. He plays offensive tackle for the Casey's but looks to be better suited to play guard in college. He has the athleticism to pull and be a lead blocker, and he can play with a mean streak. His extensive offer list includes Miami, Rutgers, Ohio State, Penn State, Stanford and Wisconsin.
Gerald Owens, RB, 6-1, 245, West Depfort High, Westville, N.J.
Skinny:Owens has offers from the likes of Wisconsin, South Carolina and Rutgers, and is a bruising runner. He may grow into a linebacker or even a defensive tackle, but at this point he projects to a running back, and a physical one at that. He can run between the tackles and is tough.
Jabrill Peppers, CB, 6-0, 190, Paramus (N.J.) Catholic
Skinny: The top-rated player in the state has his pick of schools, and is showing a ton of early interest in Stanford, Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Rutgers and several others. He is talking about being a doctor, and education will factor into the decision. He plays cornerback, safety, running back and receiver, and is exceptional at each spot, although his future will be in the secondary.
Andrew Trumbetti, DE, 6-5, 250, Northern Valley Regional High, Demarest, N.J.
Skinny: Trumbetti holds a handful of offers, and one is from childhood favorite Notre Dame. He visited the Irish campus in the summer and earned an offer after camping there, and he plans on returning in the spring. He also holds offers from Rutgers, Virginia, Michigan State and Maryland.
