DB has close to 10 offers, grew up Miami fan

Shawn Boone is a talented defensive back prospect from Dwyer High, and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Shawn Boone put his name on the recruiting map with a strong junior season. He talked about the latest since then.

"I've been training hard, getting better, and trying to become the best DB in the nation," Boone said. "That's my goal this season."

Boone, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, has close to 10 scholarship offers already. He talked about that.

"Some recent ones are from Ole Miss, which was my first SEC offer, Boston College, NC State, and that's about it," he said. "I've been getting some good interest."

With several offers in hand, Boone says he does like three schools more than others.

"I like Georgia, NC State, and Alabama," he said. "I like those programs and what they're saying."

Boone, who's been offered by NC State of those three, talked about the school he grew up following.

"I liked the Hurricanes coming up," he said. "It's because of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and all the great players who came through. They like me and I'm talking to them but I just have to get bigger."

The talented defensive back prospect talked about what he'll be looking for in a school.

"Will I be able to have playing time, good academic school, one that allows me to fit into a good defense," he said.
