* Another new offer that went out yesterday was to Raymon Minor. At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Minor is a very athletic two-way player from the state of Virginia. He made the biggest impact as a wide receiver in 2012 but says most schools are recruiting him as an outside linebacker. Miami was his 11th offer. He's being recruited like a high 3-star kid. He has some interest in Miami but it'll be tough to tell how serious he is until he takes a visit here at some point. For now, he's a player from Virginia to keep a close eye on. The Canes just signed Ryheem Lockley from Virginia in the 2013 class, and now they've already offered a few 2014 prospects from there.
* Miami Central High has been friendly to the Hurricanes so far in the Class of 2014. 5-star RB Joseph Yearby and 4-star OL Trevor Darling are both committed to the Hurricanes. UM is also still recruiting 4-star RB Dalvin Cook, who committed to Florida this past weekend. A player to keep an eye on in their 2015 class is wide receiver Devante Phillips. At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Phillips says the Hurricanes are one of several schools who have already offered. He's already been campus a few times for unofficial visits and told Scout today that he grew up a Miami fan. The Canes are definitely in good position here, even though it's early, for one of the top WR prospects in the 2015 class.
* Alin Edouard committed to the Hurricanes earlier this year as a quarterback. That hasn't stopped the Hurricanes are actively recruiting some other players at the position. One of the kids who landed an offer from Miami after Edouard committed is David Cornwell. At 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, Cornwell was named the top QB at the Elite 11 tryout in Dallas last weekend. He has ideal size, a rocket for an arm, and knows the game well. He has a lot of early offers but the one to watch here is Oklahoma, especially since he lives in Norman. It'll be hard to tell what Miami's chances are until he visits here at some point but he's certainly having a strong offseason.
* The Hurricanes have gotten off to a tremendous start in their offensive line recruiting efforts this year with commitments already from 5-star K.C. McDermott, 4-star Trevor Darling, 4-star Reilly Gibbons, and 3-star Nick Linder. Some people have been asking whether or not Miami is done on the O-Line now. The answer seems to be no. Corey Martinez, a 4-star OL from the Tampa area, is still being actively recruited. And Virginia's Steven Moss says the Hurricanes offered him earlier this week. At 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, Moss finished last season with 76 pancake blocks and has not allowed a sack in two seasons. He has over 20 offers and is currently committed to Virginia. He's going to be tough to flip but the important part here is that Miami seems interested in adding one more lineman to its already strong class there.
