Givens has his eye on one

Cortavious Givens has a couple of offers and is getting interest from a handful of schools. The 2014 linebacker of Admiral Farragut (Saint Petersburg, FL) has his eye on one school especially and hopes to pick up an offer from that program. If he does, he said the decision is pretty much a no-brainer.

Cortavious Givens has offers from Virginia and Massachusetts and plenty of other programs interested.

"I have a lot of interest in South Florida, Florida State, Florida UCF, Georgia, Tennessee, UMass, and Virginia," he said.

The 5-foot-11, 218-pound linebacker has his eye on Florida and said if the Gators offer, he won't have to think too hard about committing.

"I'll think about it (if offered), but I think I'd be pretty solid with that commitment," he said.

Givens is being recruited by the Gators at fullback, a position he's completely open to playing.

"When I came to Friday Night Lights, one of the coaches mentioned something about me playing fullback. Ever since then, I've been thinking about it and I don't have a problem playing fullback," he said.

The Saint Pete native is also good friends with Florida freshman defensive end Dante Fowler and has heard good things about the program from him. Givens was on hand in the Swamp Saturday for the Florida spring game and continues to be impressed with the way the program is run.

"I just like how all the coaches organize everything, especially with the running backs. I like how Coach White organizes everything, how he doesn't treat anybody better than anybody else. I feel like I could really fit in and he could help make me a better football player and help make me a better man," Givens said.

"They said they're going to come to my spring game."

It's at that spring game that Givens hopes to impress and earn an offer from the Gators. FOX Sports NEXT will have you covered for the latest.
